I haven’t been particularly inspired as of late; I’ve been spending most of my week at work or at the gym, with barely any downtime to think about my greatest passion: travel. Last week I finally got round to settling on my summer adventure.
If you’ve read my post about my Trek America experience (read here if not), you’ll know that my trip last summer was probably the best I’ve ever done, which is why I’m going back for seconds. The West Coast has a particular soft spot for me – California is my future home – which is why I’m headed back to do Trek America’s Pacific Coast tour.
From 15th-28th July I’ll be travelling for two weeks from my spiritual home of Los Angeles up to Seattle, stopping at Santa Barbara, Big Sur/Monterey, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, Redwood National Park, Portland, Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park and Seattle.
It’s a camping trip, my first ever, meaning that I’ll be chucked into the great outdoors and be spending most of my time in the campgrounds of national parks and in some of the most beautiful spots on the west coast. I can’t wait to be out in the open, trekking up mountains and clambering down cliffs to remote sandy spots. The places I am visiting have been on my list for a long time, so I’m so happy to be going back to my favourite coastline in the world.
It’s going to be a challenge; I’ve camped at a festival and while doing DofE before, but never for two weeks straight and never actually as “camping”. My last Trek group were an amazing bunch of people who are still my friends, and I’m hoping that my group this time around will be just as awesome as those guys.
Here’s a sneak peak of where I’ll be going (Disclaimer: none of these images are mine):

In the lead up to my trip, I’ll be writing up pre-trip posts on packing, preparing and getting ready for the road.
